LOCAL RULES

The following are local rules are now in effect at Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club.

  1. Devices that measure distance are allowed.
  2. Stones inside bunkers are considered to be movable obstructions and may be removed without penalty.
  3. Rakes are to be left in the bunkers. If a ball comes to rest on or against a rake, the ball must be marked and the rake removed. If the ball moves as a result of removing the rake, it should be replaced as near as possible to its original mark, without penalty.
  4. If a sprinkler head, within two club lengths of the green, and within two club lengths of the ball, interferes with a player’s line to the hole, the ball may be lifted and dropped within one club length of its original position, no nearer the hole, without penalty.
  5. Relief for a ball embedded in its own pitch mark has been extended to include all areas through the green (not including hazards).
  6. If a ball comes to rest on or in an aerated hole on the fairway, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty at the nearest spot of relief but not nearer the hole. If a ball is on or in an aerated hole on the green, the ball may be placed at the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty.
  7. If a flower bed or staked tree interferes with a player’s stance or intended swing, the ball must be dropped within one club length, no nearer the hole, without penalty.
  8. If a cart path or bridge interferes with swing or stance, ball may be dropped without penalty within one club length of the nearest point of relief. (No free relief if ball is in a hazard).
  9. If a ball is in or lost in an Environmentally Sensitive Area that is also marked as a lateral water hazard, the player must proceed as per Rule 26-1 (ball inside a lateral water hazard) with one penalty stroke. A BALL CANNOT BE PLAYED OUT OF ANY ESA.
