For the fifteenth year in a row, the Birdies For Babies Charity Golf Tournament, in support of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at McMaster’s Children’s Hospital was held on Thursday August 26th, 2010.

The N-ICU has a special place in my heart as my son Zachery would not be alive today without the care he received immediately after birth. Only an experimental procedure saved his life and after six weeks in Intensive Care, he was pronounced healthy enough to go home.

The proceeds from this years event which totaled $30,000 was raised by 196 golfers and sponsors. It will be put towards an Infant Resuscitation Doll. This state of the art piece of equipment will allow all N- ICU staff to be trained to revive newborns in distress, especially unstable premature infants.
